"The rumors were true.


As it turns out, Zachary did record at least two videos of his interaction with the malware. And I managed to obtain both of them...


For starters, the game barely looks anything like the original "creepy" version. In fact, version 208.2X resembles your average Super Mario fangame. It would also appear that the current plot is that Mario gets lost and it's up to Luigi and Toad to find him.


Speaking of Luigi - during Zachary's playthrough he was breaking the 4th wall every chance he got, which leads me to believe that either Buggy haven't purged the underdeveloped AIs... Or that Luigi was actually a digitalized person trapped inside Buggy's game.


Luigi also covertly communicated a certain cheat code to Zachary in the second video - "ULRLDDUR", which is a sequence of the following input commands: "Up", "Left", "Right", "Left", "Down", "Down", "Up", "Right". We never got to know what this code does, because it seems like Buggy disabled the cheat codes before it could be inputted.


We also get to see a part of the mental digitalization process at the end of the second video, just like the rumors claimed.


Now that I know how the "game" actually looks like, my next goal is to get my hands on it.
To find out what the cheat code does.
To meet Buggy.
I want nothing more than to erase that atrocity.
For what it did to everyone who fell victim to it.

I love how almost everything if not all is made in SMBX2. It doesn't look like a barren creepypasta game without anything to play through but actually like something you can have fun playing

I really like how the plumbers' "false" designs are handled in this series. They wouldn't be too freaky just having their transformations on their regular color schemes or even just their "classic" NES style color layouts. Also miscoloring their gloves and buttons really helps give it that extra touch of being unsettling; like an offputting crappy bootleg toy, or a shapeshifter who isn't getting all the details correct of their intended appearance.

So this randomly got recommended to me and I binged the whole series.

My guy, this is /fantastic/. I love the atmosphere a ton, especially with how the players actually feel like... well, players. The way they hesitate or double back adds so much character!

Can I just say how amazing this? Like. This is the best mario horror series I've seen, because of the fact that it seems real...like some sort of dark reboot of mario.

I admit that this series of power star project videos have been incredible, and the story of how a one-eyed evil entity gets into an ambitious super mario world fangame and possesses all the main characters that are in this game, torturing them in process, it's really amazing. Besides, the dedication you put into creating all those levels in the fangame is admirable.

Seems like after ehat happens to "Peach" during the events of number 7, after Andrew helps contain her in the basement "Peach" is left as nothing but a floating head. The cheat code used before didnt work the first time, but after being digitzed, Ross who is now Toad apparently finds a new area that allows him to use the code. Most likely allowing him to be teleported to where "Peach" is held. Attempting to use it causes o) to go after him but is then blocked off by the residual power of "Peach". After "Consuming" her, Toad has the power to combat the appiration.

I love to think that Peach is finding a way to fight the entity that's inside the game. And using us to help fight it back.


I also believe that this entity was part of the Kirby one with the whole Ring eye thing it all seems too familiar

Greenlight can I say that you are the only person I have EVER seen manage to make the Wario apparition scary and that your creativity and talent for making very scary and surprisingly realistic horror content is trough the roof!

I think it’s interesting if this series does one based on the Cthulhu Rom hack (Aka the one where Mario goes insane if he fails to seal Cthulhu)

But what really sells me is the regular gameplay

A Hack or maybe a full fletched adventure for SMBX
Maybe with some dark aspects and story

If you read the pinned comment you will figure out at the end that the sound at the end was Zachary getting mentally transferred into the game, in basic words if you’re confused, he got sucked into the game.
