SMC Royal Flush 42' Hugger Ceiling Fan, Model U42

Antique brass finish with oak stencil blades. Manufactured in the early-mid 1980s, likely 1983-1985. Uses full-size blades on stamped steel blade irons with a 2 1/8" motor screw spacing and the same blade hole pattern has Hunter and Casablanca. The fact that they used stamped steel blade irons implies that this size was hastily cobbled together in the beginning. For whatever odd reason, they decided to use a Laguna switch housing, because that makes sense. The blades have a 10-degree pitch.

Performance is actually half decent. High speed flies like a bat out of hell. The only nitpick I have is that it's L O U D, per usual early hugger practice.

The Royal Flush was one of the earliest hugger designs, as they all decided to spring out of the ground around 1982-1983.

My uncle bob has SO many ceiling fans in his house. I think he even has this one but he took it down and put it in his basement.

The best thrift shop to this day I've been in for fans is Valley Thirft on Rt. 4 in Fairfield OH.

I have the white the white cane blades that go on that particular fan I actually made one from parts basically what it was was a four-bladed Walmart hugger that was fairly old I'd say 1990s and I decided to kind of sicko oversized capacitor on it and see what happens and well I basically created what you would essentially call a u42 on steroids and it's probably one of the most vicious ceiling fans I own when it was it was a little out of balance and if it's a little out of balance it's way out of balance cuz how fast it goes but yeah it's basically it looks like the one I basically thrown together but with no white cane plates but I did the white king just to kind of give it some look you know make it look different
