you missed the "40 people eacht single buffed with 5 minute buffs while standing auto-hit idle next to the final boss in leatherdruidarmor _ paladin" i still have nightmares of this time...

Vanilla pally life in raid : blessing 40 people seperately with only 5 min buffs (and different ones per class). And when someone went AFK you had to buff everyone over again. And with 40 people there was ALWAYS someone suddenly AFK or offline.

I miss the LFG/LFM and actually travelling to the instance though. WoW was much more social and immersive.
You really had to work together (elites were impossible to beat without a group) and build a social network (by being skilled and nice) so you were asked to join for instances instead of LFG'in for 2 hours in ogrimmar/ironforge and end up with a horrible ragequitting group.
