HBO's "Rome" also portrays the meeting between Cleopatra and Octavian but it's brilliant. No juvenile, badly written insults. Instead it's depicted as sophisticated high-stakes bluffing where neither side wants to show any intimidation or hostility. They feign civility and wear fake smiles.

When it's over and she's alone with her people, Cleopatra is depicted immediately dropping the facade and having a breakdown...because she knows she's doomed.

This Netflix presentation is the dollar store version.

I loved it at the end of the movie, Cleopatra was stood in the desert and was asked her name by a passing Bedouin woman and she replied "Cleopatra...Cleopatra Skywalker"
