You know when I bought my first car in 2014 i was making 9.40 an hour, but made sure i was able to afford it. The greatest 2800 I’ve ever spent and she’s still running with over 263K

She sounds like a nice girl. I wish her luck. She can't go wrong with nursing. Perhaps she can work as a caregiver or health tech while she goes through school. It'll build skills and her resume. If not, Amazon has great starting rates. Perhaps they have openings in her area.

Who pays $20 an hour for babysitting? Nobody I know.
I'll babysit for $20 an hour.

I'm in a similar situation. I have some old credit card debt and 1 student loan. I make minimum wage right now. I figured out that I can save $600 a month and pay off my student loan completely by Jan2021. Or buy a car to start delivering pizzas to get out debt faster.. Its the chicken and the egg... I currently get rides to work by bus or roommate. So not having a car isn't make or break with my current job. Well I guess that settles it.... Debt first then car for me. Either way I have to save....

She needs to increase her income and college won't be a guarantee of anything but more loans. Great advice for sure

Is it just me, or does anyone else feel the closing music for this video should be available for purchase? Cause seriously, I was in a groove by the end of the video.

I love the title of this video, it’s easy to answer that question. Just work extra, save, stop spending more than you can afford and then you’ll pay off debt and save up for a car.

I agree with the need to increase her income but I also think that since she said she doesn't have a car, picking up a second job might be difficult without transportation. It's a tough situation. Doable but tough. She'd have to uber it, get a ride from a friend or use public transportation (that's hopefully still running when she's working. Here, our buses stop running at 7pm lol).

She needs to get her CNA. Go work for a hospital and most offer tuition assistance. That way she can have benefits, make ok money, and she wouldn't have to pay for school.

She could try exotic dancing to save up $10K. Do that for 3-4 months then quit. That beats 7-10 months of minimum wage work
