Wow! I hadn't heard of this one before but, judging by the table of contents, it seems really comprehensive and simply amazing. Thanks for this video! :)

I use that book. Prof. Skiena uploads his Data Science class at Stony brook where they cover all the contents from the book :)

Ya lo tenia en mi carrito de Amazon desde hace meses, pero no me animaba a comprarlo.

Este video parece una señal de que debo tenerlo 😅.

Would you say that this is really suitable more for a self learner with no real background in data science, for some one with a background in data science looking to grow or for, someone doing a course who is looking for a textbook to supplement the course materials?

Fun to read with stories on creating sports match prediction algorithms and how the chess ELO ranking system works.

Can it work if you're doing Masters in Business Analytics?

Question(s): Amazon states there is a "newer" edition of this book. However, that book is titled, "The Algorithm Design Manual".
¿ have you reviewed this book in a different video ?
¿ is the Algorithm book really the "next edition" of this book ?

Chapter 6 Visualizing Data seems interesting.

I disagree! The book contains a lot of text with shallow explanations, the number of examples for the given formulas are sparse, there are no python or R implementations of the diagrams or evaluations, there's no solution section for the exercises.

It may be understandable for people, who already got their bachelors degree in computer science or in math, but it is definitely not suited for absolute beginners.
You need to have a solid understanding about probability theory and statistics, before reading this book.

That book should be split into Statistics and Post Statistics.

Too many recommendations on learning resources. It’s just overkill.
