I went to the philharmony in Cologne (which is 30km from Bonn ), because of Simon Phillips, having not heard anything from Hiromy at all.
When this came up it hit me completely.. so beautiful, i was inn tears. And it gets me every time again.

Sometimes it's hard to believe music like this exists. The absolute pinnacle of excellence.

This absolutely defines what it is to support the pianist on drums and bass - I'm a huge Anthony Jackson fan and the way he listens to Hiromi and responds underneath her playing is astounding.

This is one truly devoted and talented jazz pianist, and an amazing person who pours herself and soul completely and deeply into her playing style.

Love these stunning musicians lead by Hiromi (here and in other recordings), superb in multiple genres, not needing to show off, happy to be avant garde, happy to be traditional, mixing and molding as the spirit divines -- letting their selves shine through every moment makes very moment masterful, every moment captivating, every moment timeless.

I'm reminded of Bill Evans' You Must Believe in Spring album ... equally sublime ... look how much Simon Phillips is enjoying himself just brushing away in the background ....

Only just discovered Hiromi, and hadn't previously been aware of Simon Phillips. With the great Anthony Jackson, this is absolutely sublime. What an incredible and beautiful display of talent and stunning musicanship! Fantastic seeing how much they're enjoying it too - as a musician myself I can only imagine how great it must feel playing at this level which such responsive partners...

Just when you thought jazz was a uniquely male afro-american art form, out comes this Japanese lady inspired by a German-born composer's work: RESPECT. So musical! She is a master operating on another level.

This music just sends me away. Being immersed in the ensemble has a totally relaxed feeling I can't get anywhere else. I'm not here to just listen to the beat but to enjoy my thoughts as I listen.Keep up the great work Hiromi.

Kiss Hiromi with love ;)

The most beautiful piece that Beethoven ever wrote, IMO. Uncanny was his sense of melody in a time when melody was I guess considered heretic. Hiromi is a technical genius. She went to the same school that I did, Berklee College in Boston. So many great musicians came out of Berklee. Sorry to say I was not one of them.
