A comfortable action is essential to making your guitar play well, but you can only get the action right if you can measure it first!

The String Action Gauge allows you to quickly and accurately measure the action of any guitar or bass. It has 0.25mm marks that are easy to read, allowing for up to 0.1mm accuracy measurement.

Typical Action Measurements are -
Electric Guitar - 1.6mm treble, 2.1mm bass
Acoustic Guitar - 2.0mm treble, 2.5mm bass
Classical Guitar - 3.0mm treble, 4.0mm bass
Bass Guitar - 2.4mm treble, 2.7mm bass

yes, useful and I have one, but rarely use it. I just use two or three different coins. I know their thickness in millimeters, so I just slip one between the string and fret to get a good idea if I need to adjust action --works perfectly for me

Cheers! Have avoided my own setups for years because could never find anyone who explains to measure from the bottom of the string!! Ta, again!

By far one of the most useful and cheap tools, I love it

Few things out-perform a variety of coins that can be used like a feeler guage. A nickle is 1.95 mm thick for example.

Just slide it in the gap between the fret and string.

I thought you are supposed to put a capo on the first fret when measuring the string height at the 12th fret.
Does it matter? Which is the right way?
