this session started slow hunting that double barrel roll in with ivan and just grew in intensity till dark! each set bigger type of session as the swell filled in, and yes as soon as i claimed that "best duck dive ever" pipeline was quick to show me who was boss! i swear i traveled about 300 meters under water in that final duck dive lol!!! enjoy the vid my hekinbobs!!!

Dude your videos always feel like I’m there with you. I find myself holding my breath and feeling tired with all the paddling. Keep up the good work man.

this raw video (without editing) is perfect to experience the intensity of your session and learn all the steps before and after surfing your wave (duck dive, paddle ect.) 👌

I’m a beginner surfer and I can’t imagine how you can surf here and not fear drowning? Even small ish waves can keep me under for what feels like forever how do them waves not keep you down till death? Mad respect for these guys and anyone who’s ever picked up a board knows this takes nuts of steel! I’m too scared of drowning to ever do this ❤️ keep it up bro ❤️

This video reminds me a lot of when I surf. Lots of paddling. Lots of looking. Not a whole lot of surfing 😂 looked though out there. Keep up the good work!

The moment he said something about making that duck dive you knew he was going to pay for it.

I'm going to take advantage of Nathan's audience and try to get another surfer's point of view on dealing with SI (Sacroiliac) joint pain. I've researched it and have all the varied info from PT's etc... but nothing from another actual surfer. If you're unfamiliar it can occur on either side of the pelvis and you get a debilitating pain down through the butt cheek. When you lay on the board to paddle the leg locks up and you can barely even paddle let alone stand up.
One good thing is I know what caused/led to it but that's also a bad thing because it's part of my alternate method of standing up after coming back from two hip replacements. This built up over two years and like many who have this condition, I thought it was lower back pain.
Any surfers out there who had to deal with this or know others, I'm open to tips, etc... Thanks...

Your paddling strength and ability is off the scale...loved the wave with you and Ivin and put your mom in more of your vlogs

I could see that thing wedging at 23:32, and I was hoping that it’d go wider and miss you. I’m looking through a screen and even my heart skipped a beat when I realised you were in the absolute worst spot for it. But overall, you make sessions like that look so easy. The GoPro doesn’t really do justice to how big it really is out there - especially those outer bombs that clean out the lineup. Keep up the stoke mate 🤙

OMG! I didn't realize how much work was involved with surfing--all that paddling trying to catch a few waves! I'm exhausted just watching! This video is the only way I will ever experience surfing up close like this, and I can understand why surfers do it--it looks very exciting, but definitely takes a lot of strength and stamina. Thank you for this video!

Somehow you have managed to capture what it really feels like paddling out - love the coverage and your enthusiasm and authenticity - as many have said, you can feel the sense of urgency in your sessions - would love to see another wider shot with the pov but that would probably complicate what could be an already dangerous situation having to manage another camera while navigating Pipe. Looking forward to more of your style of coverage which is a fresh and honest take on the already crowded space which tries to keep entertaining with heavy edits and music - nothing wrong with those channels but your videos give us another much needed look - Minagof yan Minaolek Guatu Giya Hågu!

I like how this isn't overly saturated with editing. Just keeping it raw and real. This is my type of vid!

Wow that's a lot of work for a breathtaking ride. To think the go pro makes it look smaller than it really is.

That was sick! What a crazy shifty line up to try to make sense of. Super surprised that the hold downs weren’t very long. Although right after the 23 minute mark was a pretty good one hahaha. It’s nuts that none of the other second reef rollers didn’t wedge up and really put you in a worse spot. Seriously! Hats off on the level of cardio that took. My heart would’ve been outta my chest in the first ten minutes
