I agree…. I really don’t what I wear when I leave my home. I’m very basic to bummy when I leave my home. You would think I’m very poor. My wealth, assets, etc… are hidden. Now, if I’m going out with my wife, I will get nice depending on where we are going. My mindset changed when I become 50. I drive a Volvo, because of the value in the car. I’ve had four of them and I bought my newest model in 2021. I keep my life as simple as possible. The best feeling in the world is having minimal debt and money available for emergencies and for anything you want or want to do.

I worked with a man who said the one who dies with the most toys wins. Well he’s dead and most of his toys his heirs are throwing right in the dumpster. I’m 64 and have no wants, I’ve worked for enough junk in my life. Wasted thousands on it. I enjoy a simple life. Enjoying family what’s left of it. Enjoy nice people I meet. Enjoy just God’s creation all around me everyday. Enjoy managing my portfolio that will all be left for somebody else to enjoy cause I’m satisfied in my little world. I enjoy my meals everyday. I enjoy exercising. There’s no end to what we can do in retirement and financial freedom. Life is good. I love the Holy Bible and listening to Jesus’s teaching’s over and over. That’s the center of my life no wonder why I’m content.

There’s a level of peace when you don’t NEED validation from others. I think it definitely comes with getting older but self aware young people can understand this level of freedom.
The Joneses are typically broke. The Johnsons and Jacksons may be too.

Depression was what caused a lot of my debts and for three decades I was mainly overdrawn with a credit card and student debt. Now in my 50's as a Social Work manager and a great salary there is no reason for me to not have spare money. I've learnt the hard way to be frugal and it's empowering. I have just three more years before I am completely debt free but I am enjoying life now with things that cost little, walks, photography, bee keeping, people networking. My debts and my plan to clear them has taught me the hard way to be frugal, but I have a plan and life ahead looks so much better being frugal. Great video.

I'm frugal my husband doesn't know how I manage to be so frugal. My frugal habit comes from a need as a single parent but I'm turning those lemons into lemonade. For me being frugal is fun 😊
