AQA C1 prediction 2016 - GCSE Chemistry or Core Science Revision

Everyone ready for chemistry oh wait business study's exam tomorrow

Hopefully the exam won't be like the biology paper. I actually want to answer chemistry questions.

First question was on electronic structure. 6 marker was on advantages and disadvantages of using hydrogen over ethanol for fuel. There was few questions on steel and one on why it's better to recycle than landfill or reusing it. There was some stuff on the process of making ethanol from fermentation. Conditions for cracking, multiple choice question on aluminium. The last questions where on vegetable oils and hardening. No limestone or earths layers or atmosphere or emulsions tho. That's all I can remember but compared to biology it was a dream of a test.

Just did the c1 exam today, and most of it was organic chemistry! The six marker was comparing hydrogen with petrol as a fuel. Alot of questions on ethanol and a five marker on hardening, thanks for your help!

I'm sorry that you got a lot of hate over the B1 predictions :( They are just predictions, it's not like they gonna be exactly WHAT will come up 😂 Thank you for these predictions miss! (Here's hoping that tomorrow's exam will be more focused on chemistry, not like that disaster!!)

If the B1 exam was a sort of experiment on the new spec, then I really doubt that limestone will come up. But thank you for this I'll make sure that I learn all of these in detail

Thank you for the video.  Having checked my specification the Miller Urey experiment is HT only so unlikely to be the 6 mark question!

The Question:
Elemental bromine is the source of bromine compounds. The element is produced from certain brine solutions that occur naturally. These brines are essentially solutions of calcium bromide, when treated with chlorine gas, yield bromine in a displacement reaction.
a.What are the molecular equation and net ionic equation for the reaction?

b. A solution containing 40 g of calcium bromide requires 14.2 g of chlorine to react completely with it and 22, 2 g of calcium chloride is produced in addition to ehaever bromine is obtained. How many grams of calcium bromide are required to produce 10.0 pounds of bromine?

In June 2017 is the last time on this spec.
In Sept 2016 year 10 will start the new one.
