Robert really made a killer hit with this one. I think the demo was slower and tuned down half step. They sped it up, the drummer implied a more up beat nature and the guitarist came up with descending melody. Put it all together: MAGIC! Just like heaven. Also, no autotune on Robert Smith's voice, he slides into notes, slips his pitch around and it still sounds perfect.
