One of the scary things about homeschooling is thinking about how much it might cost to purchase homeschool curriculum. In today's video I'm sharing how you can homeschool on a budget with my favorite inexpensive curriculum. These programs have been a favorite in our homeschool day for quite some time and for us, they work really well and cost very little!

Hello Becky! I am so grateful for your videos! We are moving to homeschooling this year, and you helped me so much to choose affordable resources for my child. I would like to say a big THANK YOU! We are doing workbooks during summer, and we love Critical thinking company, Evan Moore, and other resources you recommended. Also, I really appreciate that you mentioned in your videos not to pay attention to the Grade Level for the workbooks. My child is very behind in LA, spelling, and reading comprehension, and after watching your videos I don't have a pressure to follow "grade standards". Thank you so much!

We love All About Reading! I learned about it from your channel. My daughter is thriving on it. She did ABeka in her private Christian school and it was too much paper pencil work for her learning style. She actually gets a twinkle in her eyes when we do the AAR activities. They are colorful, attractive and fun for her. We just got Evan Moor spelling, and I think we will look into the spectrum reading products after she finishes AAR☺ your videos are sooo very helpful. God bless you!

Thank you so much... I was under a huge battle trying to figure out what curriculum to get and you just saved me with this video. I just love your videos... Once again thank you.

Hey Becky! Great suggestions. I agree with you on spelling. I looked at all the “fancy” spelling curriculum and started the Evan Moor “Building Spelling Skills” based on your suggestion last year. It works for us! A new curriculum we are adding this year is from The Critical Thinking Co. We are really liking Science Detective (a quick and interesting way to add science to our elementary level homeschool.) Also their “Editor in Chief” “Mathematical Reasoning” and “Balance Benders” are good too. Thanks for your videos! We always look forward to a new one. 😃

Another great video! I love your videos so much. ❤ we start homeschooling next year and we're going to start with the new TGATB Doodles and Pre-Writing. 😊

Thank you for the info. Very helpful. The Word a Day is something I will surely implement. I was looking into Wordly Wise but the long list of Vocab words was scaring me for my first grader. Now, I know there is an easier, just as effective alternative.

I have lucked out finding the teacher guides (used) on amazon from BJU English and Math-with the cd-roms. And the student workbooks have been cheaper there too. I do have harcourt science and art, also extremely cheap on amazon. Our local library usually has great reading books for children, can't beat the .50 price tag and no tax. We use the spelling lists form k12reader and have found a ton of free materials from teacherspayteachers. Also Ollie's will have Spectrum and other similar materials at low prices, along with art supplies and reading books.

I've seen quite a few home schooling videos, as I'm looking for a way to homeschool our 7 year old son in light of the poor quality local school, the high cost of private school and the dangers during the pandemic of every school, and without a doubt Becky, this channel is my favorite. You explain why you love the courses you recommend, you're clear, and you get to the point. I will come back for more, thank you! and subscribed :) do you have any thoughts on Time4Learning or Powerhomeschool? our son is super smart, and one concern i have with any program, is if he is not challenged enough, he will get bored. I'm planning to work with him for a couple of hours in the morning, and then my wife will work with him for a couple of hours in the afternoon. and we plan to mix in play time, outdoor time, exercise, creative stuff, art, music to break up the day. Thoughts? Thank you!

Awesome video. We just started homeschooling (thanks 2020 😂), and my son fell behind academically because of schools being shut down. I have hope I can catch him up thanks to things you mentioned in this video.

My two teens started using Teaching Textbooks this year. We purchased the older edition used. I’m ok with the curriculum so far. My kids seem to prefer it over Saxon.

Thank you for simplifying homeschooling. What curriculums do you recommend for science, history and geography . Are there affordable buy in programs? Also besides the core subjects what other programs do your children enjoy?

Hi!!! Thank you so much for this video! I definitely don’t want to spend $700 on a curriculum but does that mean I can’t homeschool.... For the Evan Moor books do I need the teacher’s edition?
Thank you!💗

Hi Becky! Im definitely checking out the Teaching Textbooks math curriculum. Our daughter is 9, and hates doing her math work. I feel like its too repetitive, and sometimes a little overwhelming for her. I was wondering if you've done a video on record keeping. That's why I'm afraid to veer away from the boxed curriculums. They send me all the paperwork I need for recording grades and attendance. If I could find a way to do this on my own, I would gladly switch over all their subjects!

Thank you for this video. I feel like I’m constantly wanting to jump around curriculum which I know isn’t helpful to my kids. This is my 2 year homeschooling. We have using TT with great success. Everything else I’ve changed several times. I know I need to stick with something to see if it’s working. Any advice? Will this desire eventually go away as I homeschool longer?

What would you say would be your favorite math curriculum for early math before they're able to use TTB? I have a first grader and Kinder as well but our 5th grader will do great with TTB and I love the online aspect for both of us!

Any advice on where I could get ciriculum in Canada for a grade 3 ?

Have you been having any issues with the TT saving the work? I know TT has been really honest about any issues they've had. I'm just wondering if it was user error with my niece or if its something on TT'S end?
