2021 Live Review 3 | AP Biology | Understanding Cell Communication & the Cell Cycle
Показать описание
In this AP Daily: Live Review session for AP Biology, we focus on cell communication & the cell cycle. We review cell signaling, signal transduction pathways, and the regulation of the cell cycle while practicing relevant skills.
We'll highlight four topics in Unit 4, Cell Communication and the Cell Cycle. We will review Topic 4.1: Cell Communication, looking at how cells communicate by generating, transmitting, receiving, and responding to chemical signals. The video will also address how cells communicate with one another over short and long distances. Within this topic, we’ll review how to best explain biological concepts and processes. The session covers Topic 4.4: Changes in Signal Transduction Pathways and review how a change in the structure of any signaling molecule affects the activity of the signaling and can alter cellular response. We will work on predicting the causes or effects of a change in components of a biological system during the discussion of this topic. Next, we’ll examine Topic 4.6: Cell Cycle to review the events that occur in the cell cycle, with an overview of how mitosis results in the transmission of chromosomes from one generation to the next. We will emphasize being able to describe data from a table or graph during this topic. We'll explore Topic 4.7: Regulation of Cell Cycle, with a look at the regulation of the cell cycle and the internal controls or checkpoints that regulate progression through the cycle. We will examine how to predict the causes or effects of a change in, or disruption to, components in a biological system while we review the cell cycle.
