As a falcons fan, I know morris already doesnt like preseason, at all. He played some starters in the first game, and two important players, bralen trice and demarco helliams, both got serious injuries. Morris saw that and just cut the cord, saying nobody else plays thats even somewhat important.

I think Penix's injury history plays a part in this as well, and after Bralen Trice and DeMarco Hellams went down in week 1 of Preseason it seems like Coach Rah isn't taking the chance of losing his top 10 QB.

I think they might be playing Taylor Heinecke more to try and spark up some trade interest for a QB desperate team. If we can get a 5th or 6th round pick for Heinecke, I think the team might be okay to move on from him.

They should have either drafted Penix and built around him with the Kirk money, or went all in on kirk and draft a surrounding piece with the 8th pick. Complete lack of direction in ATL
