Do you love The Lord of the Rings trilogy but feel let down by The Hobbit trilogy? Well have I got a treat for you! Back in 1987, George Lucas - yes, that George Lucas - conceived of this dark fantasy tale called Willow and gave the directing reins over to Ron Howard who was at that time still best known as Richie Cunningham. It’s got everything a fantasy nerd could love - dwarves, trolls, brownies, fairies, black magic. So round up your baby and let’s see if it still holds up today!

I saw this film in the theater as a young kid and loved it. My fiancee is a bit younger than me and she really missed out. I have introduced her to so many cool movies and this weekend Willow will be added to that list.

Fun Fact- Val Kilmer was also excellent in Heat. That film has the longest roaring gun battle that I have ever seen on the big screen.

I'm looking forward to watching this. I am 47 and was 15 in 1988, when it was released. I can't believe that, I have never watched it. I have watched most of the 1980s classics like Neverending Story, Labyrinth, Witches of Eastwick, Splash, Hocus Pocus, Back to the Future, etc.
