Madness March continues! Welcome to a new topic - SHORTS! Did anyone else fall into those rabbithole on YouTube of just finding CG short after CG short film that were both visually stunning, and narratively heartwarming? Well I certainly did 7 years ago. And even after all these years I'm still thinking about it. So let's breakdown the very film that started it all for me, this is Jinxie Jenkins & Lucky Lou. The beautifully simple story of an unlucky guy, and a super lucky girl. And who knows? Maybe we'll learn a little about the people behind the scenes as we dive into this...

...We love a good success story! I know this short film impacted me when I first saw, so it's super satisfying to know that the two core creators both were able to jumpstart their careers from here. Be it as a Pixar Intern turned animator, or a freelance artist of all things artsy. This was a nice hidden story to find on the internet.

I.... have just come to realise this video wasn't the one scheduled for today. OOPS! Well you get it a week early. If there's any little blips of early-production, please excuse it. I'm very tired.

1/100th of the budget, and it's still rivaling most big name studios in terms of creativity and entertainment value

Oh yeah I loved this short when I saw it. It seemed like a fun story didn’t know Pixar was impressed by it the creators should be proud!

I’m a fan of shorts before movies, also seriously this short is so visually creative and pleasing, the world design and creative liberties, really cute stuff.

One short I remember seeing recently is "Fueled" by Killedthecat Productions on YouTube. The art in the short is gorgeous and the story is heartbreaking. Highly recommend!

The College where this short was made, The Ringling College of Art and Design, is the school i’m going to this fall! I’m going to major in computer animation like they did! This short introduced me to my dream school, and ever since then I made it my goal to go to this school! “In a Heartbeat” was also made at this school! I’m sos excited for this series!!!

I just noticed that in 1:40 Jinxy Jenkins door number says 13 which is an unlucky number while Lucky Lou has 7 which means shes lucky, super kool detail

Highly recommend this short called "Crow" it's a very memorable short to me and has some great music in it, too

It also tells some interesting mythology on why a crow look the way it is today, it is very fascinating

(oh and plus this goofy short called "Bluehilda" it's also my long time favorite and is one of the popular shorts I can remember, it has more goofy cartoony animation just like this one) (plus Pin and Pon)

With everyone feeling a little (or a lot) like Jinxy Jenkins nowadays, this short is like a breath of fresh air. Getting lost in a simple but cute story is kinda what I needed, especially hearing the two geniuses behind it becoming successful in their endeavor. Thanks Dazz!

Damn I was obsessed with finding independent animations on YouTube when I was in high school. It actually gave me more courage to pursue a career in art, but unfortunately my magnet program didn’t give art classes as electives and would constantly discourage us from ever being interested in art. They pushed us to be lawyers or police officers, but that wasn’t for everyone. Especially me 😰

Something I recommend is the 'Being pretty' series by Dead Sound.
I think this one stands out to me because of the unique art style and the way each of the individual stories lead on and world build upon previous episodes.
A great dystopian series, highly recommend if you haven't seen it 😃.
