Razer Edge tablet turns from PC gaming console into handheld

Jeppe - A Tablet typically doesn't need to run intensive 3D games at above 60 fps. This thing needs that much memory to compensate for the fact it's running off-the-shelf PC games which would normally require no less than 4GB of RAM and a dedicate Video Card with its own 1GB of video RAM.

I have a desktop (HP ENVY) with a core i7 ($800), 32GB of RAM ($250) (Hyper X Beast) and a GTX 680 card with 4GB of video ram ($600).

I wrote it off as a business expense.

Games are not cartridges. It's pc games which you buy or download which would save you alot. But there are other cheaper tab

Interestingly, this tablet+dock (for keyboard) is about as expensive as the Surface Pro + touch-type cover. I'm not saying they're interchangeable products, but If I'm going to spend close to $1300 for the Surface Pro, I might take a peek at the Razor Edge.

Not that I agree with the comment you're replying too, but you can run Windows (and Windows games) on a mac easily.

I admit that however much its price is too high, the product is an innovation, therefore they can charge a lot for a one of a kind product. I for one will wait however until the market become's more saturated with tablet gaming pc's like this. That way I can get one when the price drops. This product is nice though, and if you're willing to pay for the first of many, then go for it.

How about something similar to what Sony does with their laptops and mixed with something Asus is trying out. An android tablet which docks into a windows 8 dock with extra battery, a hdd and a better processor with discrete graphics. The controllers could slide into the side and lock in and similarly a keyboard could too. And the battery could be removable. I know it sounds crazy but it would be the ultimate setup.
