9 Reasons Why Cell Phones Should Be Allowed

Cell phones are a forbidden item in most classrooms. Many schools have policies against students taking their cell phones out of their backpacks during the day or even bringing them to school at all.

Consider this:
If the technology existed, would you be in favor of letting students use cell phones in class for the things which make them beneficial in that regard....if certain apps and websites etc that are the reason educators dont want students using them to begin with, could be blocked during school hours or class time?

Ok, look. I go to public school, which is free education, so technology there is already given to my school by the state department of education. So it’s different for me. But I don’t think it’s smart to use phones during class time.

It gives students an opportunity to cheat.

It’s a distraction to learning. (Texting, games videos etc.)

It can cause addiction which makes students have bad grades.

Social media. (Cyber bullying, which is a serious problem)

The governor of my state wants to ban phones in school. I'm agiasnt because it will leave more schools vulnerable to school shootings. My parents also agree that school shootings will go up if they get rid of them. I might get homeschooled because of how bad the risk is.

Response to the "nine reasons for students to use cellphones in class".
1) - classroom is NOT the place to "research". You do that at home for assignments and homework.
2) - NOPE the event of any emergency students are contacted through the office which is in EVERY school.
3) - NOPE ....communicating with parents and friends and teachers? This IS the class. The teacher is there ...parents and friends have NOTHING to do with class.
4) - NOPE ....staying organized. This is what students are at school for ...TO LEARN HOW TO ORGANIZE THEMSELVES ON THERE OWN. They can learn other methods as they grow up.
5) - NOPE ....schools have their own resources FOR TEACHING. Any additional resources needed are typically available at school workstations.

1 - They will get distracted

2 - Schools have contact info, and they can do it

3 - Distracted (again), And dont they use Gmail or Outlook

4 - Folders & Binders exist, Most of them items are somewhere in a classroom

5 - They will gain more money by the government

I just explained some reasons that show why they should and still be Banned in schools
