I have one on my care right now. 5 or 6 weeks baby squirrel. He’s cute and trying to find a rehab center in my area. I don’t want him to miss out the wild life by keeping him with me but also want him to be safe and comfortable living outside 😩😭💔

I wish more animal rehab YouTubers would bring up that you have to stimulate babies to potty. It’s pretty much true for every type of animal. They can die if you don’t.

Question, I found two baby red squirrels earlier this summer. I was feeding them (goat milk) per a rehabber but another rehabber told me it wasn’t a good idea after I’ve already been feeding them it for a few days. Anyways, they ended up getting seizures and their back legs wouldn’t move and they passed away. Was this Metabolic Muscle Disease? Was I the cause of their death because of the goat milk? Idk. I cried for hours. It happened to one and then the next day the other. I thought maybe this is why the mother left them because what’s the chances it happens to both unless I’m the cause per milk? And not only that they were great minutes before each went into a seizure and was unable to move! Please help, so for the next time I find two abandon squirrels I can help them. And yes I did help them go to the bathroom after. I noticed they would just urinate though.
