Lifting and exercising is very important for developers! I lifted and exercise during my sophomore year, but then I stopped because of stress cause of school (all that all nighter for last minute programming and studying whoops). I almost legit passed out, like all i see was purple when I had 2 hours of sleep and worked out class in the morning. I lost weight and then gained it all back and probably more. T_T It's stressful for a girl like me dealing weight fluctuating.It's a struggle going back to the gym because of depression, well I keep making excuses. I will probably get back at it again in Novemeber once I settle into my new job.

Have you done powerlifting training before? It's greatly helped with the hip issues you mentioned with me and put lots of size on my upper body over the years.

Also for being sedentary I just ride my bike to work instead so it's always a physical activity plus light calisthenics at work during breaks.

Exercise is vital: hiit and bodyweight exercises along with only one meal per day shed 20 lbs in one month. Gaining grit through disciplined exercise has been invaluable for me, got me back to college and through a prestigious grad school program with me ending up as top graduate. The human in us must discipline and command the beast in us.

Thank you for motivating me! I have pretty much the same problems, including grandma hips but the main reason why Im trying to work out is to get rid of depression.

Wow, I can relate to the feeling of not wanting to take your shirt off at the beach or pool. It sucks. 2 years ago, I started going to the gym and I know it is a long journey but I have made a lot of progress and I feel so happy about it. I have just started Computer Science this year and I really like your videos! I think that more programmers should start lifting or doing exercise because it is such a static job. Great job making this video.
