It warms my heart how Rhaenys and Aegon greeted their dragons. it really shows the dragons aren’t weapons or pets but literal family with distant blood relation

we should appreciate the CGI especially CGI these days look goofy. But in HOTD we really do feel like these creatures are real and the interaction with their riders feel so seamless

Poor Sunfyre.... I bet he didn't even know he was going into battle... he probably just smelt the wine on Aegon and thought "ooh, more pleasure riding, time to stretch my wings"

A point that should be made is that Melys attempted to flea several times after Vhagar joined the fray. Each time she turned back it was at the behest of Princess Rhaenys. Vhagar and Melys have history. It makes sense that aside from the logistics she would not want to fight Vhagar. The dragons are not machines. They are living breathing magical beings said to be smarter than humans. The dragons may have danced the dance, but the Targaryens wrote those fateful steps and the tune to which the dragons flame died.
