Units of time and temperature - Elementary Maths

This is an elementary maths video for grade 5 and 6 students about time, temperature and their units

TIME AND TEMPERATURE
You have learnt about the units that are used for the measurement of length, mass and capacity. Now let us learn the units of measurement of time and temperature.
Let us look at the units of time first. Generally time is measured in seconds, minutes and hours.
A 100 or a 500 meters race, would be measured in seconds and minutes and a length of a movie, would be measured in hours. The unit of measurement of time depends on the duration of the activity being measured.
Larger units of time such as days, weeks, months and years are the units used in the measurement of longer periods of time such as academic or financial years, climatic seasons and so on.
Temperature
Temperature is a measure of the hotness or coldness of a body. It is generally expressed in three units namely degree centigrade, degree Kelvin and Fahrenheit.
They are all used to represent the same range of temperature. These are the units of measurement of time and temperature.
