Doctor Who: Rose tells Jackie she met Pete

One of the most emotional scenes of the whole season

I hear heart wrenching lines like that and I wonder if the writers who first conceived the show back in the 1960s in all its cheesy time paradox glory could have anticipated it would grow into such an emotional powerhouse

This scene makes me cry whenever I watch it. Her mother is just in disbelief, can't believe, isn't willing to. It hurts too much.

We will never have a companion with as compelling a home life as Rose had with Jackie and Mickey. There are times where Jackie feels sorta one-dimensional, but then in scenes like this Camille really got to show off her acting chops. It was important for the vast universe of Doctor Who to be anchored, and frankly that little estate in London was the perfect choice.

Here’s hoping Davies can work the same magic again for Ncuti Gatwa’s Doctor going forward. I’m very excited to see how he does it.

Why does Pete’s place of death change?

I just re-watched this episode.
Its inconsistency pisses me off: the car that was supposed to kill Pete keeps going round and round..
on a DIFFERENT STREET?

At the beginning (moment Rose saves Pete) the car hits him on a narrow road with buildings on each side.

But during church scenes (when all characters are hiding from the creatures), the car - at the time it hit Pete - is whizzing around OUTSIDE THE CHURCH.
So WHY has Pete’s death scene jumped a few streets across town?
Does the car follow him or something?

In short: the car didn’t hit Pete outside the church, it hit him on a different street. So why is it there?
