I wish focus mode can turn off apps. It feels kinda useless since you can’t limit apps. The app library still shows

Nokia came up with the switching PROFILES feature during the keypad era and no company really followed thru until Apple revamped it as the more sophisticated FOCUS. I actually love this feature because there are anxiety-filled days when I simply want to avoid Social Media totally but still have access to my online games...and there are days when I do want to engage in Social Media.

I made a preaching focus mode that turns off all notifications and calls on all my devices, sets a custom Home Screen with the apps I need for preaching from my iPad, plus has a shortcut to open the Logos app and a service timer app in split view. It all triggers 15 minutes before our service begins and turns off about 30 minutes after our service usually ends.

I absolutely fell in love with this feature when I found it and once it was all set up it was beautiful to see the wallpaper change the minute I got to college and all the notifications to be silenced a sectioned off. What a feature Apple!

Great video! My son was actually telling me how he liked the Focus feature on the new update. I just wasn’t sure if it was an app or setting as we weren’t able to get that far in the conversation. This video was helpful not only for the feature but for also thinking more about how to customize my pages on my phone. I have 2 basic pages with folders for those I have multiple types of apps for a theme. I’ve just been wanting something fresher looking lately. Thanks again for the info!

My favorite part of focus is my watch recognizing I am working out and setting that focus to my iPhone and iPad. No more notifications on my iPad when working out! And love my new night home screen before bed.

One thing I wish, for Focus mode, is the ability to create different app accounts for each mode. So each of your personal and professional social media profiles can be completely separate, yet they're using the same app... like with Firefox containers!

Apple could’ve gone about this so much better and I want to quickly put my 2 cents in and how I think they could’ve made it better is by allowing for you to control the apps and widgets you from from within the settings app instead of having to do it from outside and via the Home Screen which usually takes quite abit longer.
