If the criminal and justice system is over loaded..then a home owner, who is a legal licensed owner, airing out home intruders, probably eases the backlog on the court systems and law enforcement. A criminal with newly added holes does not need to go to a holding cell, does not need to be arrested, does not need to go to court, does not need to go to prison freeing up prison capacity, and has 0% chance of re-offending

Legislation, sentencing. etc has never been a deterrent. Capital Punishment isn’t even a deterrent. For the government to believe it has the authority to PREVENT me from defending my property, my life, my family, or even the lives and properties of complete strangers is absurd.

Our government refuses to update legislation to protect homeowners as the officials themselves are criminally incompent, or in collusion with the criminals in some way. How else would we explain the complete and blatant disregard for Canadians?

The question was, " What do innocent civilians in their own home do for self protection in the first 2 to 5 minutes when they are being threatened by armed criminals?" Seems an innocent life is only worth years in jail in Canada.
