'Kids table': Kamala Harris to have shorter debate podium to appear equal to Trump

US Vice President Kamala Harris will use a shorter podium than Donald Trump during their upcoming presidential debate on ABC, according to a source familiar with the setup.

The difference in podium sizes is intended to minimise the noticeable height disparity between the two candidates on a split screen, Axios reports.

A Trump campaign official mocked the podium difference, likening Harris’s smaller podium to the "kids' table at Thanksgiving", the outlet reported.

Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are set to hold their first, and possibly only, presidential debate, with both candidates neck and neck in the race for the White House.
