BLUES WITHOUT A NAME-OPEN HANDS

Показать описание
The band Open Hands did a spontaneous music creation session for me where they recorded several new tunes by picking a key, agreeing on the style of music they wanted to play and then just playing it without anything written down or rehearsed. The music was recorded direct to two track, done in one take and mixed live with no overdubs. This is the Blues song they recorded in that session. Open Hands-Abraham Laboriel, Greg Mathieson, Justo Almario, and Bill Maxwell. Recording engineer Bill Schnee

When you have top pros who know each other, and play together a lot, you reach the point where the band doesn't play the music - it plays them. It wants to be heard and uses them to express itself. And you *get* "first take live" recordings like this with no need to do re-takes, overdubs, or corrections. They get it right the first time. Just wonderful.
