The G7 group of advanced economies has reached a "historic" deal on taxing multinational companies.

Finance ministers meeting in London agreed to battle tax avoidance through measures to make companies pay in the countries where they do business.

They also agreed in principle to a global minimum corporate tax rate of 15% to avoid countries undercutting each other.

Interesting how the tax man is on me for missing a few hundred but it's taken 6+ years for Google to pay a penny

The funny thing is that many politicians involved in this meeting have their fingers in corporations that benefit from tax havens. Not sure how much faith I have in any significant change.

Why are these huge companies paying 15% tax when I pay 20%?

"15%" of 2, 200, 000, 000 is 330, 000, 000 and that's just what Google makes in the UK, not taking in their indian or us profit, absolutely disgusting.

Exactly ❤️❤️❤️. I hope this regime has the best impact on the decentralised currencies (bitcoins in particular)

Funny how working class people have to pay 20% tax. The rich need to be brought down to the working class level of tax paying. Equality shouldn’t just be gay rights and female rights and trans rights it should include working/ lower class people.

So weren't they paying tax all along? What kind of insanity is this. Unbelievable, is there no law in the world. Why should ordinary people pay then. What about their back taxes. Jesus please return. Almighty Father please do something there is too much injustice in th world.

15% is a bit low, but as a minimum, fine, whatever. The important part, anyway, is taxes being paid in the countries where the money is actually made.

But tell me why they still pay less than other companies? And do they have to repay the taxes they saved over the last decades?

So they move to low tax places and no matter what they sell in other countries they don't pay tax
Will this stop that from happening

I love how the flags in the background still represent the WW2 alliances, you have the 4 major allied nations to the left that won the war and the 3 axis powers that lost it. I love it.
