The one and only thing I'm sad about is that they didn't include the sound effect that played when you drove over the conveyer belts at the start of the third section. That sound effect got you going on that last section!

since i was born in 2006, this was the very first Rainbow Road i ever touched. it has a special place in my heart. while this new version is cool, i think the original is still the best version. however, i do admire the fact that it got some love

They tried their best to recreate it with some differences to fit the whole MK8DX aesthetic, especially with the music. Some of these changes were definitely good, but most weren't the best. I do like the texturing of the road, but I think it'd work better with more vibrance in it, definitely. Other than that, props to you, Nintendo!

why is Mario Kart 7s Rainbow Road and Metal Mario of all characters the most nostalgic combination? I was hearing the sounds, the music, Metal Marios stupid voice but it all came together to create a really nostalgic feeling that probably couldn't be replicated with any other character.

I can not tell you how proud I am to see this Rainbow Road in the DLC! My second favorite incarnation was the 64 version, but this is my favorite for sure. Like that other version, it's unfortunately cut short by having laps instead be segments, but I'm really proud to see it here at all. It's not all rainbow, but it was really cool being on the rings of Saturn and an asteroid during such segments. And gliding into the final stretch if you are agile enough to hit all the star rings was a fantastic finale. The music is also beautiful, I cry with joy every time... which makes racing through the tears a bit more challenging.

I really don’t understand the negativity this remake gets. If you ask me, it’s the best-looking Rainbow Road in the whole series bar none, and it’s just as fun to drive on as its OG counterpart. The music also goes hard; I honestly like it more than the OG. The only way this track could be improved would be by making it entirely in antigrav like what they did with Wii Rainbow Road.
