Heartbreaking footage captures a gifted little girl read an emotional poem she wrote about Covid-19 after the pandemic left her confused and worried.

Thea Achillea, six, penned the poem named Dear Coronavirus during her homeschooling after bombarding mum Rebecca Achillea, 36, with questions about the disease.

As Rebecca was unable to answer these, she encouraged her child to write her thoughts down and, within one hour, the talented youngster created a touching poem with rhyme and flow.

It tells of the girl's sadness that "everything's been cancelled" and her desire to finally "hug and kiss and squeeze" family members.
