Fun fact:
Mega Millions was notably redesigned in 2017. Ticket prices were raised from $1 to $2 and the chances of winning the jackpot were decreased with more numbers drawn – resulting in bigger jackpots.

Before 2017, the first five numbers were drawn from 1 through 75 and the Mega Ball was 1 through 15. After the change, they reduced the first five numbers to 1 through 70, but increased the number of Mega Balls to 25. This lowers the chance of winning the Mega Millions jackpot from 1 in 258.9 million to 1 in 302.6 million.

It isn't like that in californiA chart for example it could be over $3, 000, 000 if it is won as the jackpot grows. And one winner can get the prize. Or it might be $30, 000 plus and since they want to pay less if 2 or 3 winners win the same prize the money decreases so it could be $5, 000 plus if there are 6 winners.
