1950's Superman vs the Flying Saucers

The 1950's TV Superman George Reeves vs the Flying Saucers from the classic sci-fi 50's movie, Earth vs the Flying Saucers. It's a fan remix of two classic fifties sci-fi greats. As a Superman fan I've always wondered what it would have been like if George Reeves would have fought super villains or some giant alien invasion on the Adventures of Superman television series, so I threw together this quick mashup of Superman and the Earth vs the Flying Saucers with a small bit of the intro from the Invaders TV series of the 60's mixed in. Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen make a quick appearance as well.

The question is how would 1950's Superman handle an alien invasion with a sky filled with UFO's.

LOVED this mashup. I loved George Reeves Superman and could never get enough of it in reruns. He was MY Superman until Chris Reeve came along years later (and even then they both shared the honor, with George just becoming Earth-Two's Kal-L in my nerdy noggin). We always wanted something epic like this (I'd even pictured him vs saucers, but just one--Brainiac's) but this looked even cooler. Thanks for giving us one more trip into the Reeves-verse and an awesome one at that.

What an excellent Mash-Up!! Earth vs Flying Saucers was one of my childhood favourites (along with every other movie containing Ray Harryhausen effects) and The Adventures of Superman my favourite TV show of the time.
It was like acid-trip version of nostalgia.

The Great Ray Harryhausen usually did just the stop-motion animation for his films and the related design work. Except in Earth vs. the Flying Saucers where also wore the hat of Production Designer. So EVERYTHING you see visually is Ray Harryhausen. Except the actors. They just had to hit their marks and look in the right direction. All of us who grew up with George Reeves' Superman will have an affectionate place for him in our hearts. The pilot episode with the Mole Men scared the bejeezus out of me as a kid. Seriously creepy little dudes.

Thanks for this clever assembly of what could have been during George Reeves' career as our beloved Superman of the 1950s. I thoroughly enjoyed watching every episode I could of re-runs during my youth in the 70s.
