You’ve got a tripping hazard, a fire hazard and a shock hazard all in one with that dryer extension cord.

As a DIYer I've done some stuff that probably isn't perfectly up to code but that dryer on an extension cord is on another level!

Looks like homeowner's or his friend work 😉😁

Not even the good kind of extension cord. 😂

Your "worse" is far different than my "worse" 30 amp double pole on a 14 guage... thats basically a long orange strip heater.

I'd be happy to find wasps. Worked section 8 housing replacing 180 panels and every single one had three inches of cockroaches in the bottom.

i was not aware 14g stranded would handle that without becoming a heating element itself.... im amused and terrified

You have a homeowner who wasn’t happy with his 3 bids …
Has a friends cousin, bartender roommates, postal delivery guys, sisters boyfriends, brother in law that has electrical experience stocking the electrical isles that gave him a price he just couldn’t pass up .
Homeowners for the win . 🙌🏼🙌🏼

Extension cord acts as a heating element for those chilly back rooms.

Schedule 80 is not required by code above ground. I agree with th rest and i would probably do schedule 80 myself but not code

Schedule 80 conduit is for service risers, as far as California goes but sch40 is fine for anything after the underground service feeds

There is a difference between ignorance and stupidity. One can cure ignorance. The homeowner is the latter....

Oh that extension cord to the dryer sends chills down my spine

If that's just a regular service call, you walk away and tell your boss about the insane amount of liability involved.

That's all jacked up. Honestly, though, who's running schedule 80? I know of no one.

Your average dryer pulls 22 amps on a 30 amp circuit. 14 gauge stranded will do 20 amps with less than 1% voltage drop at less than 20 feet. Not saying it’s code, or safe, or a remotely good idea but that is why it actually works. The real bad day would be if that dryer element were to short out, that cord would probably pop before the breaker. Not sure where you live but schedule 40 is just fine for under ground branch circuits such as wells where I live. It is not fine to just run it through a knock out though. That appears to not be direct burial rated 8 gauge though and that conduit obviously doesn’t go all the way to the well, and I bet you a dollar it’s not 24” down.
