In this video, Tim, from the Functional Training Institute will show you a Banded Hip Distraction exercise using a Resistance Band, it is a soft mobilization that allows the joint to distract from itself.

This exercise will help increase the Range of Motion in Hip Flexion, which is very beneficial to anyone who is looking to improve their Hip Mobility and get better at the squat, lunge, Deadlift, or any dip Hip flexion/extension exercise!

We added our animation so you will be able to understand it better.

Thank you! Love the animation too. I don’t actually feel ‘work’- that’s how it’s supposed to be for this exercise right

How often should I have to do it? Will there be a point where I don't have to do it anymore?

Is this something that could be therapeutic to a labral hip tear and fai impingement? Or is it recommended to avoid these types of stretches?
