Hey folks, Darth Alpha here my first of hopefully many KSP-IE tutorials! Most information about Interstellar Extended is woefully out of date, so I intend to show (almost) every engine, reactor, and some tips and tricks I've picked up along the way. Come and join me on this adventure!

Little bit of a shorter episode today, today we're going over the discovery fusion engine. This is one of the earliest fusion rocket engines that one gets access to in the tech tree. Nothing crazy special, but definitely something that could carry your new colony to Laythe, perform a Grand Tour of Jool, or anything else (short of interstellar travel) your heart desires!

That fusion engine you passed over is great early on, but by the time you can reliably refine lithium in the wild you have access to way better engines.

It has great thrust, better isp than the forbidden lightbulb, and im pretty sure it doesn’t irradiate your friends. I have a cluster of 7 at default size that I use to push around all my early interplanetary hardware. It’s by no means an optimal setup but it gets the job done safe, quick and easy.

I have one or two cycling around somewhere and I should have ten.
