Hey Brandon,
VLC can be installed as an android app too. You can see if there is any performance difference.

I have recently installed the chrome os flex on my old laptop and I'm also a new user of chrome os so I have plenty of things to learn about this os. For now, I'm having a big problem. It's about audio. Whenever I play an audio or a video, I hear crackling sounds even though it doesn't have. It also makes some magic, you know? When I set the volume to 50 %, everything is okay but when the volume level exceeds 50, there comes some trouble. So, how can I fix this on my laptop. If possible, I'd like to know ASAP.😜😜😜☺️

Well, vlc is working but everytime i play a video and open some option and close it then vlc crashes (like choosing the subtitles and returning to the video - vlc crashed)

In case anyone getting update error
Run command sudo apt-get update
And then retry VLC command
