The sudo apt install vlc would not work for me. I received an error message: W: not using locking for read only lock W: Not using locking for read only lock dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'sudo dpkp --configure -a' to correct the problem. What went wrong on this process? Any thoughts?

Hi I managed to get as far you did but my vlc I had to install but it did give me box at end it just says do I want vlc lot go to media library preferences I took a look nothing I have just brought a slim portable optical drive but I can’t seem to work it with my chrome book pls help
