In a matter of days since JWST’s first data went public, astronomers have started to discover older and older galaxies, going closer and closer to the Big Bang. The findings are extremely surprising, indicating a very large number of very massive galaxies occurring unexpectedly close to the Big Bang. ThePrint’s Sandhya Ramesh explains.

Most media people incorrectly report the light travel distance as the proper (actual) distance.

I appreciate that you didn’t do that. I also appreciate that you mentioned the red shift factor.

I’m obsessed with JWST and have watched tens of videos to understand these observations, but no one explained this better/simpler than this video.

Apart from the content, Could have included the tag "Paid Production" in the video. Media Ethics can also be taken into consideration. 🙏

According to present knowledge, Universe is 13.8 billion years old. We have found bodies which are 13.5 B light years away. So if we somehow discover a body which is 13.9 B lightyears far, can we say the present model of physics or astronomy will get redundant?

Another excellent piece of reportage by this fine science journalist. I really appreciate the clarity of your reports, and even when you are telling me things I know, hearing your explanation helps me deepen my understanding. That is a real gift.

We are not looking at the early universe, but at the leading edge of our universe as it expands as it was all those billions of years ago.

What happened to acoustics of the video ? How come no one @theprint checked the audio before uploading ?!

Peering back in time is very shortsighted statement also very misleading. It’s peering back in time based on light that we can see. Should not be considered an absolute statement.

How many of these galaxies have "Black Holes" or "Pulsars"?

Audio quality is quite poor. Please invest in a lapel mic. Sounds like you're in a bathroom.
