my dad has this disorder. they had to sell their house and move to a single story after he woke up on the balcony after going through the sliding glass door in his sleep. we feel lucky he didn't fall off the balcony

My mother has a strange combination of narcolepsy and “sleep moving/consciousness”. She apparently almost walked out of a moving motor home when she was a kid, but now it really only happens when she is tired and hot after/during an event or something (meaning there’s usually people around to keep her seated). I’ll look over and see that she is very suddenly out. I’ll sit next to her and keep her from getting up or knocking anything over, and she’ll start talking. If she hears a phone, she’ll tell my dad to answer it. If she hears music, she starts conducting. If we’re in the car, she’ll tell us to “Get me off this ride.” Sometimes, she will craft narratives like those you experience while dreaming and you can play an active role in shaping her dream. She’ll ask me or my dad questions and we usually answer in a way that we’ll know she’ll react strongly to. She asked my dad what he was bringing for food to a beach wedding one time and he answered, “Well, I thought we’d just catch fish when we got there.” She replied something along the lines of, “That’s a bunch of bull shit.” It’s kinda nuts.

As someone who is practically unfased by horror movies and games, it's quite refreshing to have a chill shoot down your spine again. Really got me because I dream a lot and what would happen if my brain just forgets to not move while I'm asleep.

I’ve died mamy times in dreams. The most recent one was the most terrifying cause I stopped existing and the dream carried on without me. I was watching through the eyes of the guy who died with me. He was denying his death and pretending it was a movie script. He couldn’t deny it after he saw himself in the mirror and saw the black void where his face once was. (He was murdered and his face was bashed in)
I used to get frequent nightmares. I also tend to move a lot in my sleep.

As a lucid dreamer I can confirm that if I died in a dream I died in real life I'd be dead idk how many countless of thousands, probably hundreds of thousands, maybe more times.
