NASA fires up Artemis moon rocket engine for 550 second test

The Space Launch System rocket's RS-25 engine was fired up on Oct. 17, 2023 for the “final round of certification testing ahead of production of an updated set of the engines," according to NASA. The test occurred at the space agency’s Stennis Space Center.

Just a thought for the folks commenting on costs and who does what the cheapest, last time that was the debate around space travel and pressure was put on to do space travel cheaper/faster we lost two space shuttles, give me the mindset of the engineering teams working with less tech but had their eyes on the prize for the first moon landings, combine that with all advances we have made in materials/computing Mars and beyond is within our reach.
