Wow!!!! I'm old enough to remember the Apollo moon launches---it was impressive then and just as impressive now. I got a lump in my throat today seeing a rocket launched in the spirit of exploration and inquiry rather than as a weapon of war! A proud moment for our country which we should celebrate together.

The sheer size of that flame trail is insane

Awesome flight, but NASA needs to step up their game with the on-board cameras and get us some awesome external views!

Saturn V weighed 6.2 million pounds, had 7.6 million pounds of thrust.
Artemis weighs 5.75 million pounds, has 8.8 million pounds of thrust.
No wonder Artemis left the launch pad much faster than Saturn V. It has more than double the extra thrust per mass ratio. (I don't know if they plan to put heavier payloads in.)

Insane, the roar and rumble of those engines and boosters is incredible! Experiencing the launch live must be intense.

So used to watching SpaceX launches that it feels weird for the boosters to not come back

Glad to see they finally got this launched. Gotta say, that is one impressive piece of kit. The sheer power that thing contains is incredible.

I never thought SLS would actually fly. This is a very happy moment for me. 😁

Humanity is both amazing and intelligent. Yet self destructive and stupid at the same time. Beautiful launch!

"The future of human spaceflight" God, why does that give me chills?

Amazing!! We have the technology to go back to the moon, but we don't have the technology to make all audio well heard!!!

For those of us with really good sound systems, I really despise of the commentator talking and hyperventilating all over the moment of launch. Really wish they would just post native videos of the launch.

Shouldn't this video have millions of views?

Fun Fact: this is the most powerful rocket ever built.

This might be the first step on becoming a milty-planet species. For some reason my eyes are watering.

Kind of disappointed that they cut to simulation so early. I'd like to see some onboard external cameras aspect of thee launch. I hope we get some really high resolution video when it orbits the moon.
