This Fan Awesomely Reimagined The Lion King Characters

While Disney’s photorealistic remake of The Lion King looked quite impressive, many fans agreed that it was hard to grasp what the main characters were feeling. The truth of the matter is that animals don’t emote as much as cartoon characters, and it’s hard to feel much for a blank-faced animal, regardless of how good the voice performance may be.

Nikolay Mochkin definitely felt this way, and he decided to Photoshop the characters from the 2019 film to resemble their animated counterparts a bit more. Let’s take a look at the work of one fan who awesomely reimagined the Lion King characters.

This guy's design for Scar actually makes him look frightening. He looked sinister in the original, and he looked pale in the remake, but combining the two styles really brings out the evil in him.

Lion king: visually stunning, but dull in the emotion factor.
Aladdin: entertaining, but a bit rushed at times.
Dumbo: dumb new story, dull visuals and boring characters.
Jungle book: visually stunning, entertaining, surprising, good film.
Beauty and the beast: shot for shot remake. That’s it.
Cinderella: fine, just fine.

Disney are loosing their charm it’s just cashgrab, cashgrab. Oh wait! Cashgrab
They need to go back to their roots and do what made them great. Hand drawn animation, emotion, good stories and iconic songs.
No more being Pixar knockoffs and buying every brand you see. And just remaking classic movies as a way to make a quick buck.

The director that produced the remake of the lion King also produced jungle book remake/CGI. The CGI in the jungle book was extremely well done and they almost had facial expressions. However the facial expressions in lion King, were just...watered down.. alot

It's crazy how well the cartoony style translates onto a live action look. Really makes you wonder why Disney didn't go with this type of look
