Flomax almost killed me due to a severe drop in blood pressure. During the night on the third taking Flomax, I awoke in the middle of the night with a very strange and scary sensation. I tried to get out of bed, and I passed out on the floor…. An ambulance was called, and they found my blood pressure had dropped to ‘68 systolic & 32 diastolic’, which the EMT’s diagnosed as near fatal. The Emergency Room gave me adrenaline, and a ‘fluid drip’ to help purge the Flomax in my system. I was hospitalized for three days…. My cardiologist came to see me and noted that Flomax and Uroxatol worked largely based on learning blood pressure. Another Urologist did a more thorough exam using a scope of my urinary track. My prostate was growing back into the bladder, and orthoscopic guided laser removed the offending prostate tissue in my bladder. In summary, my first urologist did a very quick 5 minute discussion, then wrote a prescription…. Almost killed me. Sloppy medical service….

I have been on Tamsulosin for just under three months. Life changing! I have never slept better and I can leave my home for long periods and remain in comfort!

I bought some empty gelatin capsules and I divide the drug in half. I take 1 every 12 hours (1 before bed and another mid-day) rather than once a day and this has eliminated all the side effects of dizziness and stuffy nose. For me it seems much more effective as well.

I was on Flomax for years but still having four or five toilet trips a night. Dr. Rachel Ross recommended pharmaceutical grade saw
Palmetto. After a month, it was working well so I stopped Flomax and still doing well.
Thank you Dr. Ross. No more
Flomax, and I only get up once or twice a night.

A real game changer. No serious side effects. I had many UTI's before a very competent nurse practitioner prescribed flowmax. Much better life now.

I took it for about a week with only some light dizziness when I stood up.
Then I went on a car trip out east and pulled into a restaurant and ate a big salad.
Got back in the car and while driving I blacked out. My wife got me to an emergency room where I faded in and out for a couple of hours before they flew me to a big hospital and insisted that I needed a pacemaker because my pulse was 30bpm and my bloodpressure was 90 over 50.
I asked them repeatedly if they were sure that the flomax with my other blood pressure medicine along with the big meal wasn't the cause.
They said no.
To make a long story short I was right and they were wrong. The flowmax caused my blood pressure to collapse which caused an erratic heart rate.
It took me about two years working with the pacemaker doctor to gradually turn down the pacemaker beat rate. Now it paces only 3% of the time when I'm in deep sleep.
Bottom line is I never needed the pacemaker. A waste of time and money. When the battery goes dead I'm having it taken out.
Flowmax can be bad news. Be very careful taking it and only if you "really" need it.

I have been taking it for years, I take mine in the morning, along with Oxybtynin, never had a problem with either of them 👍

For me, the side effect was retrograde ejaculation, or, no ejac. One-a-day dose reduced the urgency to pee, and 2-a-day eliminated night time pees. But at what price? Give up spontaneity, make an appointment with wife for sex, stop taking Flomax, and hope she remembers the appointment?

I took this and My heart went crazy. I had ventricular Tachycardia, supraventricular Tachycardia, pvc’s and syncope. Passed out twice, broke a vertebrae and 2 ribs first time and a bruised rib and other injuries the second time. Doesn’t happen to everyone, I was one of the lucky recipients.

I have been on Tamsulosin and experienced no adverse side effects. Just eliminated my UTI infections from lack of fully emptying. I take one just after evening meal.

Thanks doc, great video. Old saying " old men spend half of time in bathroom other half of time looking for bathroom ".

I have been taking it for several years. Recently I started taking zinc and stinging nettle. They seems to have helped reduce my enlarged prostate and have not been taking tamsulosin for several days with no return of symptoms.

Everyone I know on this has had retrograde ejaculations. All of us without being told of this before the symptom arises and freaked us out.

Very, very good overview on Tamsulosin!
On it for several years with no problems but am about to double the dose to 0.8 mg/day and/or add Pure Encapsulation’s beta sisosterol (sp?).
I’m considering Dutersteride or Finasteride too because they actually reduce prostate size eventually.
