Which databases are OLTP or OLAP?

In this video we talk about OLTP and OLAP and which databases belong to which.

We first explain what each stands for and then look at the characteristics of these different approaches for data processing in database systems.

After this we give some examples as to which database can be categorized
to which approach:

OLTP:
- RDBMS (MySQL, Postgres, Oracle, etc.)
- NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Datastore, DynamoDB, ...)

OLAP:
- Cloud Data Warehouses (BigQuery, Redshift, ...)
- Open source analytical DBs (Apache Druid, Apache Kylin, Clickhouse ...)
- Commercial analytical DBs (IBM cognos, Oracle Essbase, ...)
