Articulate Storyline: Using Number Variables in Branching Scenarios

In this Articulate Storyline tutorial, you'll learn how to use number variables in Articulate Storyline to create branching scenarios. When you need to capture values such as learner's scores, number of quiz attempts, object prices, and so on you'll need to work with Articulate Storyline's number variables.

Here's a simple example where we're working with number values to show points for weighted scores in this simple elearning scenario. In this case, there are no incorrect choices there are some choices that are better than others and the associated point values and scores are higher.

Using a variable reference, you can see and validate that the point values for each scenario choice are working correctly when you click each of the three question choices.

Clicking the Submit button, Articulate Storyline evaluates the choices you made and based on the current score, will branch you to one of three different slides. So this is a good introduction into adaptive branching techniques in Articulate Storyline.
