When World War II vet makes unusual call for help, deputy responds in kindness

When Gail Weekley, an 80-year-old Morrow Ohio man, called veterans services, he didn't expect a Warren County deputy to knock on his door. Or what happened next. Weekley was out of food. His car had broken down, his son was away, and he didn't know how to get to the nearest grocery store 8 miles away. That's when Deputy Charles Hale went above and beyond the call of duty. Hale drove Weekley to Kroger, waited while he shopped, and drove him back home.
