Back in my powerlifting days bands were a huge key for me to break through plateaus. Cool to see you using them.

Man you saved my day today, watching you doing something progressive and open youreself to learning new stuff to succeed. The whole week im feeling like shit but for some reason watching you with this bands doing something usefull makes me happy today i really dont know why but thank you for that.

Good to see the bands. I have been urging you to try these for an age and I knew they would grab your enquiring mind. Ok, many points...
1. In my experience the cheapest bands you can buy on ebay are as good as you need. They are latex, all of a likeness. I imagine you paid a wad for those rogue bands. No worries, you will be buying more...
2. I did write before if you remember to only buy the light bands. If they wear out, they are the cheapest to replace. If you want more resistance, simply put multiple bands on the bar. I think you will find that there are bands even lighter than the reds you got, I would get a pair.
3. Seeing you using the bands cast my mind back to the first times I tried them. There is a steep learning curve, you will find you get a lot better with them quickly, the body learns. I bet you will soon be able to use the more powerful bands soon enough, just take your time.
4. the bands can be used for many exercises. You just expanded your home gym no end. loop them over your power rack and do tricep extensions, overhead I prefer. Use a dumbell bar or something short as a handle. Stand on both ends and have a go at barbell curls, upright rows withthe empty bar. You will likely find the even lighter bands I mentioned are useful here. Try this for sure - use as many of the bands you have that you need, stand in the looped ends and put the band over your neck - banded good mornings, awesome.
6. Dynamic effort work - this involves moving the bar as fast as you can. Doubles on the squat, triples on the bench, singles on deads. Personally I do not do it westside style, I take my time between reps, just go down fairly solowly and boom! up the weight. The band stops you from taking off at the end of the movement. I love these for squats. 10 doubles on the minute gives you a great conditioning session as well as making you explosive, as well as getting in ever more squat practice.
8 Variations for maxing out. I never max out a comp squat, bench, deadlift. Alwas a variation, create a list of variations and try to PR on them. You can use various grips, deficits, stances and of course...bands.

More but it gets difficult to explain. As you can probably tell I am a bands fan. I think there is a very good case to make for the banded squat in articular being better than the straight weight version, the resistance curve matches the body so well. I could easily do accomodating resistance all the time and feel good about it, there is something about the loading that feels natural (to me) less sudden, possibly safer? However if you are comp oriented/goal oriented, you have to decide the extent of your band use. I am sure you will find this as fascinating as I do. Also "Unlike dumbbells or kettlebells, resistance bands don’t last forever and even good quality bands will wear out eventually. The danger of a band snapping misuse is pretty low, but you should still regularly inspect your bands for rips or tears and replace damaged ones. Also, store your bands in a cupboard or some other dark place because sunlight can cause the material to degrade." I also noted that temperature affects them. I keep mine in the house in wionter time, they temporarily lose their elasticity in a freezing outbuilding. OK have fun and work hard.

THANK GOD! finally hes doing something usefull to progress. To be honest i couldnt watch you doing the same things over and over again it drove me crazy but SLAVA HRISTU! know you doing something to progress and if you want to progress even faster try box squats with bands or chains at youre sticking point(at parallel or slightly under) just to eliminate the bounce at the bottom part.

Ivan’s taken the conjugate pill, we’ll see you in a bench shirt one day. Just make sure to hammer your triceps like Coath

I've done a ton of band and chain work. I'm a fan. I don't think they are the end all be all, but a fan. Suggestions: use your safeties. store the bands indoors - storing them outside or in your car is going to age the rubber quickly. Err on the side of 'less'. Enjoy!

Ivan, great video as always brother. I've found that bands and band pegs can be more of a hassle than they're worth. I would try hanging chain weight down to the floor. Spud inc even makes nylon straps that let the chains hang down farther. Alan thrall has a great video explaining the process. Chains create a similar accommodating resistance as bands, without the fuss.

Regarding the thing you said on bench. That raw power to the triceps can be stimulated with weighted dips and doing lower range of motion with it. My opinion on bands is that you can do isolated movements like the pin squat without them and it is up to you what fits you best and what do you prefer. Many years ago when I was alot into calisthenics there were no bands and some movements took alot of time, now with the bands I can see that people are taking less time to learn complex movements, so the power curve of band stimulated movements and the info that we have now definetely helps.

Doing squats with bands makes the weight feel “alive” ..

Makes sense out of a “real world” strength point of view and it breaks up the regular squat nicely.

It helps you build up the “drive”, since you know it pulls you down it will definitely train your brain to drive all the way through.

I have the rogue bands, I think they're worth the price. I use them a lot for accessory movements since I don't have tons of equipment. I have another suggestion instead of doubling them up to remove slack. What I do is loop the end around another pin some distance away from the pin below the bar. Then the band forms an L shape going from bar, loops around bottom pin, then across to the final pin. If you don't have another set of pins, I'm sure you can be creative and use another anchor point.

Majstore, I would love to hear your opinion of Hex and Richard Heart. The core principle of delayed gratification match exactly, in my opinion with squat everyday.

The variation that you throw into your exercises in a effort to stimulate a change reminds me of a model of training called Triphasic Training by Cal Dietz, wherein by blocking together periods of eccentric, isometric and concentric exercises you can ultimately elicit a greater overall response.

You should check out some of Cory Gregory’s stuff. He’s big on squatting every day and using bands on both back and front squats. You may find that interesting.

I really like that direction. The only thing with bands is they weaken through repeated use, have you considered chains?

Appreciate how useful bands are during squats, but the setup to use them is such a mission lol

These won't fry you like the pin squats so keep them in and get rid of the pin squats.

Hey Ivan! Are you done with the snatches and hang cleans? I’m sure you’ve talked about it before but I haven’t seen those in a while.
