I love Jared and have read a few of his books. But here he completely abandons an opportunity to do public good. The woman asking what to do about misinformation is never correctly answered. He responds by saying "vote" of course how do you vote effectively when you don't have a credible source(s) to which to draw on? Then her question is repeated this time he yammers about University intellectuals not doing their part.Shall all just wait until they see the errors of their ways? We can't afford to do that. We need to be proactive for are own sake IMO What he should've done was simply listed a few news organizations that do objective journalism, independent journalists who do their best to provide unbiased reporting. Names of intellectuals. names of departments at Universities that do data collection, Government bodies that do the same. Seriously, if he had just devoted a minute or two raising awareness where people could act on their own behalf. I mean the 80% who aren't going to be Googling these things and weren't raised in families where the parents are educated and can provide guidance. People aren't going to know where to focus their energies and determine who the hucksters are. What are good sources for learning critical thinking? The problem is as simple as that. Time to do something different Mr. Diamond. Time to wake up.
