Best OLED Ultrawide - MSI 240Hz MPG 341CQPX Review
MSI is about to release their brand new 34" 240Hz QD OLED MPG 341CQPX which will offer the best refresh rate of any 34" Ultrawide made so far. The question is... is this new OLED monitor actually any good, or does it just look good. Today we find out by doing an in depth review including color performance, speed, motion, text clarity, brightness, and many other metrics.

A lot of people are very worried about the sub pixel structure. To clarify I did not show any close ups from this monitor. The image I showed is from a different monitor. To be clear this one image was never meant to represent the monitor and I had no idea people would interpret it that way. I simply showed it as an example of QD OLEDs triangle structure in general for all QD OLEDs. That said It was clearly a mistake which caused confusion that I will not repeat.

Also I think it’s time to clear up my opinion on QD OLED generations. I have found after much testing that there is little to no appreciable difference between the generations on monitors specifically. This includes brightness and text clarity, where I personally can’t say it has noticeably improved.

Additionally, as far as l'm aware the burn in complaints from V1 were more to do with incorrect pixel refresh settings, though yes, there is a chance the latest gen OLEDs MAY be a bit more resistant to burn in, but I have not seen any evidence to prove this claim.

Hopefully you can understand that sometimes we as reviewers make mistakes or don't think about how something might be interpreted differently if not worded correctly.

Thanks for watching

What do you think?

I wish they would make a 38" 3840 x 1620 @ 240 Hz. That's my endgame ultrawide.

Wow, watching this in full resolution on my s24 ultra really shows how good it looks. Amazing motion clarity as well.

Tired of everything being 34”, need more larger 21:9 options besides the LG.

We're still on 1440p? If we're not gonna get 5k2k 40" monitors can they at least make 38" 3840 x 1600?

I agree I think this ultrawide size is perfect along with that resolution, man you can't go wrong.

This one has a gen 1.5 qd oled panel, right? Not the newest generation?

Someday these will be UHD ultrawide, and then I'll be throwing my wallet at them 🔥

I received this monitor recently, and I found a bug that adaptive sync isn't properly working. It fixes screen tearing but not micro-stuttering, believing that the refresh rate isn't really following in game's FPS when it's within VRR range. The refresh rate counter on monitor is likely a lie. Can you confirm whether you're having the same issue or it's just me?

Wake me up when there is a 38-39-40 inch oled with 1800r-2300r (the 800r from LG is an utter offense to eye sight).

Wait for this one or get the Alienware DWF?
Decisions decisions…..

Probably a dumb question, but will the cables being visiblr under the monitor be a problem if I have it mounted on the wall with a arm?... Looking to upgrade from my 5 year old Alienware ultra wide that's been mounted on the wall so the stand won't be an issue for me.... Just kind of looks like where the cables plug in might not be "hideable" even when mounted.

The Sub-Pixel looks like Gen 1 QD-OLED?

Good review, but I dont like it whenever "infinite contrast ratio" is brought up, because it's not

I own an LG c1 and i gotta say, gaming on my msi led 1440p monitor is still awesome because its still quantum dot technology and in my opinion thats really what you need, colors

Hello would you go for the gigabyte f027q3 or the dell aw2725df? the f027q3 is about 100$ more expensive would love an answer or if you recommend another monitor

Did you know an IPS black version in 34"? I would like to buy an ultra-wide, but for gaming and software development too. So text clarity would be important for me.

Unless it is with the new pixel structure layout, I will instantly buy it. And my RTX3070 cannot handle a 32" 4k 😅

Have you seen anything/have u had hands on the new gigabyte ultrawide or the new corsair ultrawide? I wonder how they all stack up against each other since theyre all really similar in terms of panel and gloss

Did you look at the subpixel layout yourself or are you going off of earlier rumors? Not accusing you of anything, wondering if I could take your statement as fact since I've heard noises that it might be the older panel just driven faster.
